Why I Am Walking:
I happened upon the 3-Day website while trying to earn sky miles (saving up for my Hawaiian vacation:) It caught my eye because if I registered I earned 500 points! I wasn't really interested, but I browsed the site anyway. As I read the stories of survival and learned more about the programs that were supported, I became more interested. I was a little turned off by community showers and sleeping in a tent, but I continued to read. I was inspired by the chance to participatein this adventure, so I called a friend (the one person that is always in on any crazy scheme I concoct) to see if she was interested and chills ran through me as she told me her mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer 4 days earlier.
I am walking because I can. I am walking even though no one in my family has had breast cancer. I am walking because my husbad lost his mother to breat cancer. I am walking because I have 3 amazing step-daughters and 3 beautiful nieces with a family history of breast cancer. I am walking because I know someone with breast cancer. I am walking for my best friend's mom. I am walking because it is the least I can do.
